102 riders set off to face the lung busting warm up climb of Norwood Edge.
On a cold but dry snow free Sunday with the promise of a little sunshine, riders of all ages took part in this annual 50 mile test of winter training. The shorter 30 mile event also proved popular. It was good to see a high proportion of female riders boosted by, dare I say, some fit ladies from Leeds & Bradford Triathlon club. I would normally be at the finish in time to see the first riders back, but after attending to one rider on taking ill doing the climb up Clint Bank Lane and seeing him off to hospital, riders were already tucking in to the food provided by Barbara & her team from Trinity Church. Dave, who's heart raced ahead of him and wouldn't slow down was fine after some treatment at Harrogate, he was home that night and attended the club meeting for a beer on Monday. The only other let down was the guy who waited for his mates for 15 minutes at the start, they never showed. The good thing about these rides is you can always find someone of your ability to ride with. Thanks to all the riders who took part and the team at the church for another GREAT day on the bike.
