Wow! Was today's ride a bit nippy, you betcha.
But with the right gear and a steady pace with a bit of work on the climbs we soon warmed up. The ride set off with 7 to Burnsall and took the lanes to Bolton Abbey, the gated road, then via Cracoe and over the lane back down the Wharfe Valley to the Cafe at Burnsall. Then we were 8! Steve Vaughan picked up my twitter and made his own way direct and rode back with us. My miles were 53 at 13.8 Avg. taking 3 hours 50. plus lunch.
All went well until we thought we'd lost Tracey & Christine who didn't show when we stopped at Cav Pav on the way back. I put in some extra training climbs back up the hills out of the back road, no sign of them, did they go the main road way? Worried I rode back to Cav Pav to find them waiting for me, Tracey having gone straight past the turn heading for Buffers with Christine chasing her before she got to the ford. Then we picked up Peter who'd had a job to do and he also rode back with us. We also had a new rider all the way from Queensland Oz. Lindsay just moved to Leeds and is keen on doing sportif's.
